CurvesSmart® is the world's most advanced fitness training system that is attached to the machines in the existing Curves circuit. On CurvesSmart®, you will receive a precision designed workout based on your very own range of motion and current strength level, moment to moment feedback letting you know how you are doing with every repetition performed, and monthly progress reports that will keep you motivated towards your goals. Preliminary testing is demonstrating as much as 15% more inches lost and an increase in intensity of 21%!
The CurvesSmart® technology motivates and challenges you to achieve your personal health and weight management goals by keeping you committed to exercise. CurvesSmart® gives you feedback while exercising and an opportunity to access data after each workout letting you know if you met your target for the day. CurvesSmart® ensures you will keep your exertion level at a point where you will receive safe, maximum benefit based on your unique body signature. By tracking heart rate, speed of movement, repetitions and resistance, CurvesSmart® provides immediate biofeedback letting you know whether you are exercising too strenuously or not enough. CurvesSmart® challenges you by automatically adjusting your workout intensity as you meet targets and identifying areas to focus on.
Once you have been entered into the CurvesSmart® system and created a personalised exercise profile, you are ready for the workout. As you visit each exercise station, CurvesSmart® retrieves your profile from the local computer and downloads a unique set of data or instructions specifically formulated based on your strength. As you exercise, your physical effort is compared to a pre-established intensity level target. Heart rate is measured at each Stepper station and compared to your heart rate zone settings. As you meet pre-defined targets, the system will automatically increase those targets to keep you challenged and to continue to increase your strength and fitness level!
CurvesSmart® Workout Programs
There are 4 workout programs to choose from and each workout program will expect a different intensity level and progress your intensity at a different rate. Have a discussion with your circuit coach about your goals and current fitness level to ensure the most appropriate workout program is chosen.
1 - Cardio: Resistance will be set at a safe 50% of your maximum strength on this program. Each workout will begin with a 5 minute warm up and end with a 5 minute cool down prior to 5 minutes of stretching. This is a safe and effective program for those with health concerns.
2 - Fit 'n' Trim: This program will ask you to exercise at 65% of your maximum strength. If you attend on a consecutive day, your intensity will automatically be lowered to 50% of your strength giving your muscles a chance to recover. Each workout will begin with a 3 minute warm up and end with a 3 minute cool down, plus 5 minutes of stretching.
3 - Muscle Size 'n' Strength: This body sculpting program consists of high intensity workouts set at 75% of your maximum strength. Workouts immediately following a high intensity workout will be set at 50% of your strength. Each workout will begin with a 3 minute warm up and end with a 3 minute cool down, plus 5 minutes of stretching.
4 - Endurance: This program is designed for the fitness enthusiast. It will maximize cardio and muscle overload. You will be required to give your maximum effort during every workout. The warm up and cool down will be completed on your own. 5 minutes of stretching will follow the workout.
